In a significant step towards community education and empowerment, Adelaide Sangat SA recently organised an informative seminar on 9th November at the Holden Hill Community Centre, featuring legal experts from MSM Legal. The event focused on the critical importance of creating a will to ensure that one’s estate is managed in accordance with both South Australian legislation and personal wishes, particularly in the unfortunate event of sudden death.
The seminar aimed to bridge knowledge gaps in the community regarding estate planning, highlighting the risks and potential complications when clear directives are absent. MSM Legal emphasised that proactive measures can prevent legal hurdles for families during already difficult times.
Amanjot Singh Sidhu, a respected Barrister and Solicitor in South Australia, delivered an impactful session addressing prevalent social issues, including crime and drug-related consequences within the community. Drawing from his professional experience, Mr Sidhu shed light on the serious repercussions individuals face when caught in such challenges, underscoring the importance of awareness and proactive decision-making to safeguard our loved ones and community welfare.
Feedback on the session was provided by Domenic Arena and Mintu Brar, who commended the event’s success in fostering meaningful conversations and raising awareness about sensitive but vital topics. Their reflections highlighted how initiatives like these help strengthen community bonds and support the unique needs of migrants and their families.
Adelaide Sangat SA continues to stand by its commitment to educating and nurturing the community through discussions that resonate with and prepare members for real-life situations. This seminar marked another step forward in supporting the welfare and empowerment of the Adelaide community.
